
A packaging redesign from Farmer Focus highlights product traceability and transparency, as well as company environmental, social and governance (ESG) branding.
Each Farmer Focus package now contains a unique 4-letter Farm ID that traces back to the chicken’s farm of origin so consumers know exactly what they are shopping, providing transparency and traceability throughout the chicken supply chain. The new packaging recently received the 2024 Graphic Design USA Best-of-Year Award.
The packaging redesign is an extension of the Farmer Focus goal of telling the stories of the growers behind its poultry products through in-store packaging, website and social media. The poultry company won Chicken Marketer of the Year in 2024 for its multichannel approach of engaging chicken consumers and building brand loyalty.
Besides sustainability, ESG programs evaluate and report on social issues including diversity, employee relations, consumer protection and animal welfare.
These programs appeal to consumers who increasingly purchase from brands that match their values. According to a McKinsey & Company report, products making ESG-related claims experienced an average growth of 28% over five years, compared to 20% for those without such claims.
