De Heus Nutrición Animal has acquired Agrupación de Cooperativas de Regadío de Extremadura (Acorex) in Spain, effective March 13. The acquisition will help De Heus increase its presence in the area of Extremadura and will help it build a leading position in the Spanish animal feed market.
The Acorex plant has 19 employees with a production capacity of 11,000 metric tons per month. With the short-term investment planned by De Heus Nutrición Animal, the plant will reach a production capacity of 180,000 metric tons per year.

La Garrovilla feed plant is the 11th production plant owned by De Heus Nutrición Animal in Spain, in addition to Aranda de Duero (Burgos), Benavente (Zamora), Colloto (Asturias), Porriño (Pontevedra), Llerena (Badajoz), Lugo, San Pedro de Nós (A Coruña), Silla (Valencia), Talavera de la Reina (Toledo) and Ubeda (Jaén).
