Piglet feed producer has outgrown its previous facility
Based in the United Kingdom (U.K.), animal feed company Primary Diets has expanded its facilities in North Yorkshire.
The firm has relocated to a new purpose-built warehouse near Ripon, on one of the U.K.’s major north-south roads, the A1M. The move results from Primary Diets outgrowing its original 20-year-old facility, reports Harrogate Advertiser. Its new facility at Potter Space Business Park offers 27,500 square feet (2,550 square meters) of space for the storage of raw materials and finished feeds.
Primary Diets manufactures specialty feed products for piglets and game birds.
General manager, Ian Wellock, said that the proximity of good road links to the firm’s U.K. and international customer base was the key reason for the decision to relocate within the business park.
Primary Diets is part of AB Agri, the agricultural division of Associated British Foods (ABF).

Through six key business groups, AB Agri operates in 70 countries worldwide, focusing on activities supporting sustainable food production.
In February, AB Agri acquired Michel Pasze Sp. Z.o.o., of Poland, a specialty producer of feeds for young animals. After investment in the plant in Smigiel, the purchaser announced it would retain the existing staff, and operate under the new name of AB Agri Polska Sp. Z.o.o.
Just last month, AB Agri announced that it is to establish a Technology Centre in Kilkenny in the Republic of Ireland. The project was supported by the Irish government, and will involve the creation of 50 new jobs over the next five years. The center will host Intellync, AB Agri’s data and technology business. Working across agricultural supply chains with major food processors, retailers and directly with farmers, this group aims to increase productivity, improve animal health and enhance corporate social responsibility programs.
AB Agri recognized Kite Consulting at the Antibiotic Guardian Awards in June. The consultancy firm received the Animal Health, Agricultural and Food Award for its achievements in helping to tackle antimicrobial resistance.
