Bhutan explores alternative raw materials for livestock feeds

To reduce imports of raw materials and feed costs, the agriculture ministry in the South Asian state is considering a range of mitigating measures.

In the Kingdom of Bhutan, the government has become increasingly concerned about the cost of animal feeds and the nation’s heavy reliance on imported raw materials.

Among the solutions identified by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock is domestic cultivation of alternative crops, such as cassava and Korean hybrid corn, reports Kuensel Online.
