Alltech has released its 2023 Sustainability Report, showcasing its commitment to aligning business practices with the purpose of Working Together for a Planet of Plenty. The report emphasizes Alltech’s dedication to sustainable and ethical practices, reducing environmental impact and advancing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The company is focused on promoting sustainable agriculture, improving food production efficiency and tackling key issues such as soil health, greenhouse gas emissions and antimicrobial resistance.
Key 2023 highlights include:
- A 19.8% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions from the 2021 baseline, with a goal of reducing them by 42% by 2030
- Completion of 19 energy efficiency projects, cutting 8,990 metric tons of CO2e
- Life-cycle analyses of 74 core products and the receipt of three EcoVadis sustainability medals
- Accreditation from the Pet Sustainability Coalition for the third consecutive year.
Alltech’s Planet of Plenty initiative, launched five years ago, has been a strategic focus. The company continues to advocate for the positive role of agriculture in addressing climate change through partnerships and innovations. In 2023, Alltech also promoted its feature-length documentary World Without Cows, which explores the cultural, economic, and environmental roles of cattle across the globe.
