Séverine Deschandelliers has been re-elected for a new term as president of FEFANA, marking her third consecutive term. Over her previous two terms, Deschandelliers focused on raising awareness about the crucial role of specialty feed ingredients in reducing the environmental impact of livestock production.
A key initiative during her presidency has been advocating for modernization in regulatory frameworks to unlock innovation and increase the effectiveness of the specialty feed ingredient industry, supporting a transition to a more sustainable food system.
In this new term, she aims to further these goals by working closely with regulators to create a coherent approach across the various policies impacted by the European Green Deal, particularly industrial policy. A central objective will be to preserve the competitiveness of the EU industry and ensure the continued production of essential feed additives, including amino acids and vitamins, which are vital for food and nutrition security amidst potential supply chain disruptions.
Deschandelliers will lead FEFANA's efforts with the support of a new board, featuring key industry players such as NHU, BASF, Evonik, Lallemand and Cargill.
