Ukraine’s November corn exports may hit record numbers after a 20-million-metric-ton harvest and a removal of the country’s 12% export tax, according to agricultural researcher ProAgro.
Shipments of corn reached 1.01 million metric tons in the first 18 days of November, an 84% increase compared to 422,700 metric tons in October, said Nikolay Vernitsky, the head of ProAgro. Wheat has also seen significant gains, with exports rising to 263,000 metric tons from 166,730 metric tons. The country’s overall grains harvest has reached a record 56 million metric tons as of November 25.
