The Wenger Group announces promotions, new hires

The Wenger Group is pleased to announce several promotions and new hires.

The Wenger Group is pleased to announce several promotions in the Dutchland Farms and Wenger Feeds divisions.

Larry Shirk was promoted to Chief Operating Officer for Dutchland Farms. Larry joined the Wenger Group in 1999 as Sales and Marketing Manager and held various roles in the company servicing key accounts and mentoring the sales team. A resident of New Holland, Larry earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Elizabethtown College.

J. Luke Salter transitioned to Account Leader for Wenger Feeds servicing Layer Accounts. Luke most recently served as Production Manager for Dutchland Farms leading a team of six service technicians and a consulting veterinarian. A resident of Lancaster, Luke holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Science from Penn State University. He also served in the United States Marine Corps for nearly six years.

John Myers joins the team as Production Manager for Dutchland Farms. John most recently worked as a Live Production Manager for Hain Pure Protein. A resident of York, John earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Business Management from Penn State University.

“Larry brings 19 years of experience with The Wenger Group to the COO position, built upon prior roles in the wholesale grocery industry and serving some of our largest layer customers, giving him the skills and knowledge necessary to lead the Dutchland organization,” noted Phil Rohrbaugh, Chief Executive Officer of The Wenger Group. “We’re also excited to welcome Luke to his new role. He brings exceptional leadership skills and a high level of poultry expertise to his portfolio of feed customers. Finally, we are delighted to welcome John Myers to the role of Production Manager. His extensive industry experience should be an asset as we grow the next generation of talent in our Dutchland Farms division.” 

The Wenger Group is also pleased to welcome Elaine Box and Deana Hollister as Human Resources Managers and Matthew Resnick as Assistant Treasurer.

Elaine Box most recently served as Director Human Resources for ENGEL North America, where she oversaw all Human Resource functions. A resident of Lancaster, Elaine holds a Juris Doctorate from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, and is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government.

Deana Hollister, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, served as Managing Director of the HR Consulting Division of Power Kunkle Benefits Consulting. A resident of Marietta, Deana attended Villanova University and Lebanon Valley College and earned HR Certificates of Senior Professional Human Resources and SHRM Senior Certified Professional.

Matt most recently served as Treasury Manager for Dentsply Sirona in York, PA. He also previously held leadership positions at two public accounting firms. A resident of Lititz, PA, Matt holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bloomsburg University.

“Elaine’s broad experience, her background in manufacturing as well as her experience in the legal issues around Human Resources will be especially valuable to our team. In addition, we are excited to welcome Deana and tap her decades of HR experience and her extensive expertise in benefits as we continue to grow our company,” noted Linda Lownsbery, Vice President Human Resources.

“In his new role, Matt will help us design and implement best practices in our treasury management and related business processes. His background in manufacturing and his previous experience in auditing and public accounting will be an asset to our team as we continue to grow,” noted Chief Financial Officer Tim Appleby.
