FIAAP 2015 offers solutions for critical feed industry issues

The 2015 FIAAP Conference offers solutions to the pressing issues in the international feed industry.

As I write this in mid-January, I’m preparing for what has become one of bright spots of my year: trade show season. The first six months of 2015 bring with it three large international shows: the International Production and Processing Expo (IPPE), held in Atlanta, January 27-29; VIV Asia in Bangkok, March 11-13; and, in Cologne, Germany, June 9-11, VICTAM International.

While each exhibition offers great learning and networking opportunities, I’m especially looking forward to hosting the Feed Ingredients and Additives (FIAAP) Conference on June 9, an event that is co-located with VICTAM International.

For those who may be unaware, WATT Global Media, Feed International’s parent company, has taken the reigns as conference organizer. The sixth edition of the one-day event is geared toward the needs of the total feed industry.

In late 2014, Feed International announced the FIAAP call for papers, asking feed industry stakeholders to contribute abstracts of their latest-and-greatest research to be considered for oral presentation at the conference.

We were very pleased with the dozens of abstracts we received; however, the bunch had to be narrowed down to seven. In the end, the abstracts selected by our panel of four judges split neatly into four main topics: processing (2), ingredients (2), formulation (1) and, of course, additives (2).

From nutritionists to mill managers, there’s something for everyone at this event.

It’s too much for me to get into in space allotted for my column, so I’m going to have to defer you to the FIAAP Conference website. If you are interested in viewing the full event schedule, please visit www.fiaap-conference.com

You can register online or fill out the printable registration form found in the February/March 2015 issue of Feed International. Register before April 1 to take advantage of the early bird rate.

Hope to see you in Cologne!
