A Malaysian High Court judge has suspended the payment of significant fines by the nation’s largest feed companies, pending a review of potential adverse impacts on the poultry sector in Malaysia.

In December 2023, the Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) fined five chicken feed manufacturers for the “formation of a price-fixing cartel for poultry feed.” The fines imposed were substantial, amounting to a total of MYR415.5 million (US$92.8 million).
