Brazilian pork exports grow, FMD-free status recognized

May exports of pig meat by Brazil broke another record for the month, and the trade could expand further as China officially recognizes Brazil’s status as free of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD).

At 129,400 metric tons (mt), Brazil's pig meat shipments for May set a new record for the month, according to the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA).
