Dan Meagher, president and CEO of Novus, received the 2026 International Visionary Award from Saint Louis University’s Boeing Institute of International Business during its Annual International Business Awards Dinner on September 30.

A St. Louis native, Meagher earned his business degree from Saint Louis University, where he also played soccer and baseball before graduating in 1983. He said receiving recognition from his alma mater was a wonderful surprise.

“This was completely unexpected and very humbling,” Meagher said. “NOVUS has been involved with the Boeing Institute of International Business for years because we value its opportunities for collaboration and knowledge sharing. Receiving this award from such a trusted organization and a pillar of the business community is a real honor.”

The award celebrates the achievements of top global business leaders and their impact on international leadership.

“Each year, a number of senior executives are nominated for the International Visionary Award and the Globalist Award,” said Hadi Alhorr, Ph.D., director of the Boeing Institute of International Business. “The event committee for the Boeing Institute’s Advisory Board meets and discusses the candidates and brings the nominations to the general board for voting.”

Alhorr says the institute’s advisory board is composed of top executives from multinational companies in the St. Louis region. Previous award recipients include Tony Cheng, president and CEO of RGA; Patrick Sly, executive vice president of Emerson; and David Steward, chairman and founder of World Wide Technology.

Since 2019, Meagher has led Novus, a U.S.-based feed additive company with employees in 22 countries and customers in more than 85 countries. He also serves as board chair of the Institute for Feed Education and Research (IFEEDER), is the former chair of the American Feed Ingredient Association (AFIA), and a member of the International Feed Industry Federation (IFIF), which represents and promotes the global feed industry through national and regional feed associations.

Meagher said involvement in these organizations gives him the opportunity to connect with people and perspectives across the global agriculture industry.

"The strength of our agricultural food industry lies in its people and their shared commitment to supporting a safe, sustainable and resilient food system,” Meagher said. “Being in a leadership role in the global food chain is inspiring not only because we’re helping to feed people but because of the passionate people I’ve met along the way. I have had the opportunity to work collaboratively with leaders and associations around the world to brainstorm science-based advocacy and drive innovation. It is my privilege to give as much as I can to help our food system navigate today’s challenges while preparing for tomorrow’s opportunities.”

Established in 1984, the Boeing Institute of International Business at Saint Louis University’s Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business offers a breadth of global business resources for students and alumni, as well as the business community, faculty, government and professional organizations.
