Polish meat and poultry company Animex celebrated the opening of a new poultry rendering plant in Koryta, Daszyna commune.

The new Animex K5 plant will specialize in processing of animal byproducts (ABPs) category 3, which are produced in the poultry slaughter processes. These products will be used in the feed, pet food and fuel sectors.

Large-scale investment

The total cost of the investment was PLN137 million (US$35.7). The production hall occupies an area of 5,186 square meters and the premises where the plant is located – measure 40,000 square meters. The key objective of the project is the full processing of the 3rd category animal by-products produced in Animex group, which will allow for optimization of the processes and increasing production efficiency.

“Animex K5 is an investment which not only enhances the potential of our company but also emphasizes the strategic significance of central Poland – heart of both our country, and Animex. This is where the key processing processes that allow us to effectively use the raw material potential and develop in a sustainable way, are concentrated,” said Artur Borys, managing director for byproducts development at Animex Foods.

The plant was designed following the highest safety and environmental protection standards. For the sake of the environment, a modern air purification system worth PLN 10.25 million has been used, which minimizes the plant’s impact on the surroundings. Animex K5 consistently implements the strategy of production improvement through introduction of innovative eco-friendly solutions and promotion of work safety culture according to the principle: “safe employee means safe business”.

“Animex has been consistently investing in development and modern technologies for years, but equally important for us is establishment of good relations with local communities. We are not only the leader of the industry, but also a responsible and committed neighbor, who supports the development of the region” –Łukasz Dominiak, public & government relations director at Animex Holding, said during the opening.
