USPOULTRY and the USPOULTRY Foundation have approved a significant amount of funding for three new research projects that aim to address key challenges in the poultry industry. The research grants, totaling about $305,000, were allocated to three different institutions, each working on important topics:
-
Improving Efficiency in the Delivery of HVT Vector Vaccines at North Carolina State University
-
One-Shot-Triple Immunity: A Novel Universal Live Recombinant NDV Vaccine at South Dakota State University
-
Agent-Based Model of Transmission of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza at Purdue University, with funding support from the American Egg Board
These grants are part of the broader USPOULTRY Board Research Initiative, which is designed to address pressing industry challenges and advance poultry science. Since its inception, the initiative has made a significant impact, contributing over $37 million (adjusted to $65 million with inflation) toward poultry research.
This initiative highlights the ongoing efforts to improve poultry health, vaccine development and disease control measures, which are crucial to maintaining a resilient and efficient poultry industry.
