Earlier this month, Thaifoods Group, a public limited company, reported that it had received a letter of resignation from Winai Teawsomboonkij.

In its statement, the firm confirmed that Winai Teawsomboonkij had resigned from his positions as director and chief executive officer of the company. The change took effect on December 26, 2025.

According to the official statement to the Stock Exchange of Thailand, Thaifoods Group reported that the executive’s resignation will not impact the firm’s policies or operations. As well as the Board of Directors, two executives holding authorized signatures remain at the company. They are chief operating officer Phet Nantavisai, and chief financial officer Siriluck Tangwiboonpanich.

A recent notice from the country’s Securities and Exchange Commission records the involvement of several named individuals complicit in insider dealings at Thaifoods Group, and linked to Teawsomboonkij. One of them appears to have the same family name as the ex-CEO.

Each of the five has been fined between 666,667 Thai baht (THB; US$21,000) and THB1 million in connection with these illegal activities, which appear to date back to 2016. They relate to the purchase of shares in the firm prior to the publication of better-than-forecast quarterly trading figures.
