Feed company Ridley sees net profit second quarter 2012
Livestock feed company Ridley Inc. saw a net profit of $4 million in the second fiscal quarter of 2012, down from 2011's $4.9 million, according to the company's latest financial report. Increased raw material prices were largely responsible for the drop in profits.

Chr Hansen posts €117 million net profit for 2010/2011
Chr. Hansen has posted €117 million net profit for the 2010/2011 financial year, compared to €18 million in 2009/2010, according to the company's latest financial report. Revenue grew by 15% to €636 million with organic growth of 10%, according to the company. All three divisions contributed to the strong growth.

US corn future trading limits to expand
The daily trading limit for corn futures on the Chicago Board of Trade will widen to 40 cents per bushel beginning on August 22, according to Commodity Futures Trading Commission. David Lehman, managing director at CME Group Inc., said historically low levels of supply, growing demand and other factors have significantly increased corn futures prices and volatility.

Hungary poultry, animal feed prices up
Poultry prices in Hungary rose 21.2% in April, on top of the 16.7% they rose in March, according to a recent report by the Central Statistical Office. The continued increases can be accounted for by a rise in animal feed prices, said Minister of Agriculture Sándor Fazekas.
