Royal De Heus opens 7th animal feed factory in Vietnam

Royal De Heus has inaugurated its seventh animal feed factory in Vietnam, with its newest in Mang Thit District, Vinh Long Province.

Royal De Heus has inaugurated its seventh animal feed factory in Vietnam, with its newest in Mang Thit District, Vinh Long Province.

The factory, inaugurated on April 15, 2016, saw an investment capital of more than $30 million and the capacity in the first phase of 250,000 tons/year. The total capacity of De Heus Vietnam is increased to 1,000,000 tons/year. De Heus already has a factory in Vinh Long that specializes in aquafeed. The new factory, therefore called Vinh Long 2, will produce feed for cattle, pigs and poultry.

Vinh Long 2 is the first plant with a river port. By the water ways, the logistic of incoming raw materials and outgoing finished products can be organized in a more efficient way between Vietnam, Cambodia and Mekong Delta.

Gabor Fluit, business group director, De Heus Asia, said: “We are very proud on this new factory in Vinh Long. It is built and equipped based on the latest technological and production insight, this guarantees an excellent quality. Moreover, our customers will benefit from the new river port. For us, the new factory and river port, are an important next step in our ambition to contribute to the further agricultural development in Vietnam.”
