Haid Group breaks ground on feed production base in Tanzania

This marks a key leap in Haid’s strategic layout in Africa, from North Africa to West Africa and then to East Africa.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held recently for the feed production base of Haid Group’s Tanzania Haid Co. Ltd. in Mrandizi, a coastal region of Tanzania. This marks a key leap in Haid’s strategic layout in Africa, from North Africa to West Africa and then to East Africa.

Located in the heart of East Africa, Tanzania boasts a long coastline, abundant natural resources, and a long history of aquaculture. It is a key region for agricultural and livestock development in Africa, with strong demand for livestock and aquaculture and huge development potential.

As local agricultural modernization continues to advance, the scale and standardization of the aquaculture industry are steadily improving. However, problems such as insufficient feed resources, outdated aquaculture technology, and low output efficiency are becoming increasingly prominent. The groundbreaking ceremony of Tanzania Ocean University will inject strong momentum of technology and services into this promising land.

As Haid’s first feed production base in Tanzania, Haid Tanzania’s core products cover two major categories: poultry feed and fish feed, covering major local aquaculture species such as tilapia, as well as laying hens and broilers. It fully meets the characteristics of local aquaculture species and market consumption demands. After completion and operation, it will provide local farmers with suitable, high-quality and stable feed products, and comprehensively empower the development of the local aquaculture industry.

In recent years, thanks to its high-quality feed products and localized operating model, Haid Group has successfully put two modern feed mills into operation in Egypt. Now, with the groundbreaking ceremonies for Haid Group in Nigeria and Tanzania, it marks another major breakthrough in Haid Group’s African strategy — extending from North Africa and West Africa to East Africa, Haid Group is gradually building a system network covering R&D, production, and services in the core aquaculture regions of Africa.

According to Feed Strategy's Top Companies database, Haid Group is the world's largest animal feed producer, with more than 32 million metric tons of feed produced in 2025. Haid Group (Guangdong Haid Group Co. Ltd.) is mainly engaged in feed production and sales, with nearly 60 feed producers in China. The company produces aquatic feed, poultry feed and pig feed, among others. Haid has feed mills in Vietnam and India. The company is also developing animal health products, large-scale breeding operations and seed production.
