Watch on-demand now to learn the real efficacy of mycotoxin detoxifiers can be evaluated only by toxicokinetic studies in animals.
Biomarker analysis is a powerful tool to evaluate the true exposure of animals to mycotoxins. Toxicokinetic studies with mycotoxin analysis in blood are required to test detoxifier efficacy. Mycotoxin analysis in blood in combination with feed analysis is a complete and powerful way to
assess the overall impact of mycotoxins to animals. RISE® is a novel platform that combines a comprehensive technology and unique service to mitigate (myco)toxin related stress. Featured speakers will include Prof. Dr. Mathias Devreese, Associate Professor of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Ghent University; and Dr. Arnau Vidal, Technical Manager, Toxins & Stress, Innovad.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:
1. Several toxicokinetic models have been described recently for the biomonitoring of different mycotoxins in swine and poultry species.
2. The real efficacy of mycotoxin detoxifiers can be evaluated only by toxicokinetic studies in animals.
3. Toxicokinetic studies showed the capacity of the Escent® technology to detoxify mycotoxins.
4. For the first time in the industry, the novel Myco-Marker® service measures the real impact of mycotoxins in animals and optimizes mitigation strategies.
This webinar is sponsored by Innovad and is presented by WATTPoultry, Feed Strategy, and WATT Global Media.
SPEAKER INFO:
Prof. Dr. Mathias Devreese: Associate professor of veterinary pharmacology and therapeutics – Ghent University
Prof. Dr. Mathias Devreese graduated as a veterinarian in 2010 (Ghent University, Belgium). After graduation, he immediately started his Ph.D. research at the Laboratory of Pharmacology and Toxicology. During his Ph.D. research, he performed a research stay of several months at the Department of Animal Biosciences at the University of Guelph (ON, Canada). After gaining his Ph.D. in 2013, he obtained a post-doctoral research grant from the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) to establish a juvenile piglet model for preclinical pediatric pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic research. He took a research sabbatical in 2016 at the Institute of Computational Comparative Medicine (ICCM) at Kansas State University (KS, USA). Mathias Devreese is currently an associate professor of veterinary pharmacology and therapeutics at Ghent University. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics (AAVPT) and the European Association for Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology (EAVPT) and a member of the Animal Health Modeling and Simulation Society (AHMSS). He also serves as an associate editor for the journal BMC Veterinary Research (Pharmacology and Toxicology section).
Dr. Arnau Vidal: Technical Manager – Toxins & Stress, Innovad
Dr. Arnau Vidal graduated as an agricultural engineer in 2012 (Lleida University, Spain). Then, he began a Ph.D. in the laboratory of mycology from Lleida University. During his Ph.D., he studied the stability of mycotoxins in the food and feed chain. When he finished his Ph.D. in 2017, he got a post-doctoral research grant from the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO) to study mycotoxin biomarkers in humans and animals in the Centre of Excellence in Mycotoxicology and Public Health (Ghent University, Belgium). Currently, he is working in Innovad as a Toxins & Stress technical manager.
