UN panel urges action during EU deforestation rules delay

A proposed 15-month postponement in the implementation of the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) offers those affected — including the region’s feed sector — time to take constructive action to enable full compliance, says UN panel.

Originally scheduled to come into effect at the end of this year, the European Commission (EC) recently proposed a 12-month postponement in the implementation of the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

In essence, the regulation introduces a law banning the importation into the European Union (EU) of commodities linked to deforestation.
