Carbon footprint of fishmeal is small and shrinking

Improved processing and the increased use of natural gas have cut the carbon emissions associated with fishmeal production, Peruvian researcher says.

The carbon footprint of fishmeal — which was already a low-carbon feed ingredient — has seen further improvements since 2019, according to research presented at the annual members' meeting of IFFO, the Marine Ingredients Organization.
