Varvel RS/RT Worm gearboxes are specifically designed for universal mounting and are manufactured with die-cast housings and covers in aluminium up to size 85 and in cast iron from 110 up.
RA and TA Series helical worm gearboxes combine an independent FXA single stage helical gearbox coupled with a standard FRS or FRT gearbox. RA and TA gearboxes offer higher output torques and greater efficiency than RS and RT gearboxes with equivalent ratios.
RS/RS and RT/RT Series gearboxes consist of two RS or RT gearboxes and offer a broad selection of high reduction ratios to complement the RA-TA Series and permit low output speeds and high output torques.
These gearboxes basically consist of three main parts: the casing, the worm shaft and the worm wheel. The worm wheel in particular is available in a number of variants, each made to suit the needs of specific applications.
