Feed life cycle guidelines released by international feed groups
Global feed life cycle assessment (LCA) guidelines, developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)'s Livestock Environmental Assessment and Performance Partnership (LEAP) are now available for public review, the International Feed Industry Federation (IFIF) announced. LEAP aims to improve how the environmental impacts of the livestock industry are measured and assessed to reduce the impact of livestock products on the environment.

IFIF elects 2014–2015 chairman, board of directors
Delegates at the International Feed Industry Federation (IFIF)'s 26th General Assembly unanimously re-elected Mario Sergio Cutait as chairman for the 2014-2015 term, recognizing Cutait's leadership since 2012, according to reports. "Through our efforts and partnerships we have positively impacted the environmental footprint, the international regulatory framework, the efficiency and the image of our industry," said Cutait.

Environmental footprinting consortium plans for global feed guidelines
The European Feed Manufacturer’s Federation, FEFAC, and the American Feed Industry Association, AFIA, set up a consortium in 2011 with the view to collaborate on environmental footprinting. The FEFAC and AFIA consortium, together with the International Feed Industry Federation, IFIF, has joined the UN Food and Agriculture Organization-led partnership on benchmarking and monitoring the environmental performance of livestock supply chains.
