Maier Dirk 90pxDr. Dirk Maier, Director of the Iowa State University Kent Feed Mill and Grain Science Complex

Dirk E. Maier, Ph.D., P.E., F.ASABE established the ISU Feed Technology Program and serves as the director of the ISU Feed Mill and Grain Science Complex, a $25 million state-of-the-art grain handling, drying, storage, and feed processing facility. He also serves as the director of the Consortium for Innovation in Post-Harvest Loss and Food Waste Reduction, which brings together experts and thought leaders to advance a common research agenda for gaining efficiencies within the global food system. Dr. Maier was a professor and head of Kansas State University’s Department of Grain Science and Industry (2008-2015), where he was responsible for leading the department’s teaching, research, and outreach programs. He was the co-founder of the Purdue Grain Quality Team, key initiator and director of the Purdue Post-Harvest Education and Research Center, and director of the Purdue Grain Quality Laboratory.

Anthony Ewing has an impressive and diverse background in the feed milling industry. He started his career as a feed mill manager in 2000. Next, he moved on to Smithfield Foods as the Director of International Feed Manufacturing and Director of Operations in Romania. Following his time at Smithfield, he served as the Vice President of Manufacturing for a feed mill in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. His next two experiences include Managing Director – Premier Feed Mills in Nigeria and Vice President of Pimico in the Philippines.
