Watch on-demand now to learn how natural plant-based approaches in animal feed additives can prevent and treat necrotic enteritis.

Discover the latest approaches and research on how diverse phytonutrients, including essential oils and prebiotics in natural animal feed additives, are used as antibiotic alternatives to help prevent and treat necrotic enteritis in poultry.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:

  1. Market demands for decreased use of growth promoters and anticoccidial drugs in feed formulations make necrotic enteritis one of the most challenging and costly diseases impacting the poultry industry.
  2. Predisposing factors lead to the overgrowth of Clostridium perfringens that are crucial to the onset and development of necrotic enteritis including; dietary factors, immune status, stress, intestinal physiopathology, and coccidiosis.
  3. Applying natural plant-based approaches in animal feed additives as an alternative to antibiotics can prevent and treat necrotic enteritis by utilizing the right combination and diversity of phytonutrients including essential oils to set up competitive exclusion and leverage their anti-microbial and antioxidant properties.
  4. For phytonutrients to be effective and achieve consistent performance; they must establish and maintain intimate contact with pathogens allowing them to effectively kill pathogens while preserving beneficial bacteria in the gut.
