Philippines suspends imports of selected animal products from Turkey

Trade restrictions come after confirmation of a recent outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in a Turkish cattle herd.

An outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in the Republic of Turkey has driven a decision by the Philippines to impose a temporary halt on imports of susceptible animals and animal products from the country.

Restrictions were announced this month by the Southeast Asian nation’s Department of Agriculture (DA), reports the official Philippine News Agency.
