Regenerative agriculture has direct and downstream benefits

On a warm Monday morning in late August, I stood in a corn field in Shellsburg, Iowa, along with other members of the media and representatives from ADM, as Kyle Schminke told us how he started using regenerative agriculture practices on his farm.

For a producer like Schminke, who grows mostly corn on approximately 3,000 acres, decisions are primarily based on financial sustainability, but regenerative ag also has downstream benefits such as soil health, biodiversity, climate and water resources.
