Dr. Marta López Alonso, DVM, is currently a professor at the Department of Animal Pathology at the University of Santiago de Compostela.
She is a specialist in mineral metabolism and coordinates the Animal Medicine research group (IMedA). She has participated and led numerous national and international projects related to mineral metabolism and the accumulation of toxic elements in animals from One Health Perspective. During the last decade she has also been involved in several projects related to sustainable agriculture, and particularly in organic farming. Currently, he coordinates a crowdfunding project Minerais contra o cancro (Minerals fighting cancer) and leads the TIRAC operational group. From 2006 she also actively collaborates with EFSA as member of several working groups and currently is member of the EFSA FEEDAP Panel.
