An international scientific collaboration reports a key finding that could make vaccination of pigs against African swine fever (ASF) more effective.
“Our study represents an important step forward in our understanding of the virus’s interaction with its host,” said lead author of the paper, Dr Linda Dixon. “Targeting the virus’s ability to persist in the bloodstream without reducing the protective immune response offers a promising approach to the development of safer and more effective modified live vaccines.”
