Sri Lanka records nation’s first ever African swine fever cases

Further outbreaks have occurred in Indonesia and two Indian states; in Europe, the spread of the virus continues in the wild boar population.

At the end of October, first cases of African swine fever (ASF) were detected in Sri Lanka’s Western Province. Within a few days, further outbreaks in domestic pigs were confirmed in three more provinces — Uva, Northern and North Western provinces, reported Ada Derana.
