France steps up ASF control measures

Concerned about the relentless westward spread of African swine fever (ASF) across Europe, the French authorities are increasing the intensity of disease surveillance and considering the construction of border fences to control wild animal movements.

This week, the French ministry of agriculture  announced it was increasing the surveillance of wildlife in two departments in the northeast of the country.
