Poland postpones ban on GM feeds, ingredients

The Polish government is supporting a five-year postponement for the introduction of a law prohibiting the inclusion of genetically modified ingredients in animal feeds.

A ban on genetically modified (GM) animal feeds and genetically modified organisms (GMO) for animals will now come into effect in Poland on January 1, 2030.

At the end of July, the agriculture ministry submitted a draft law, which amended the date of the introduction of the ban. Prior to the amendment, the ban had been scheduled to come into effect at the beginning of 2025.
