Eden Prairie-based company SAM Nutrition co-sponsored the Faith Temple Food Give Away in Sioux Falls
Along with Pipestone, SAM provided families with nearly 10 pounds of meat in this time of need.
Hundreds of boxes of groceries are handed out every Friday at the Faith Temple Food Giveaway in Sioux Falls, SD. Operated by Pastor Jeff Hayes and Faith Temple Church for over 11 years, the need for food pantries across the country has never been greater; however, many of these community organizations are finding themselves short of product, especially protein. This is exactly what Pastor Hayes encountered last week.
“We understand that things are operating out of the norm in this difficult time and providing any assistance to our customers, vendors and partners is important to us,” noted CEO and Founder Sunil Shah. “I like to think of it in the words of Mahatma Gandhi, ‘You may never know what results come of your actions, but if you do nothing, there will be no results.’”
Upon an email issued from COO Apoorva Shah offering the different solutions SAM Nutrition can provide, Pipestone reached out with a proposal that reflected SAM Nutrition’s core values in giving back to the community. What better way to support our local pig farmers than to help those in need!
“We are so thankful to be able to give back to the community in this difficult time,” said COO Apoorva Shah. “Giving now has never been more needed.”
Partnered with Pipestone and WholeStone Farms, 7,000 pounds of pork was donated last Friday, April 17th with families walking away with nearly 10 pounds of pork. Every visitor was able to have pork loin, pork tenderloin and ground pork as well as some pork recipes to try at home.
In addition to sponsoring food banks and community organizations, SAM Nutrition also provided personal protective equipment to their customers and employees to keep them safe.
