WEBINAR: How to strengthen pig gut health in post-AGP production

This webinar will explore the gut microbiome development and its complex interaction with digestion, immune function, overall health and performance. This is the second installment in a three-part webinar series, “Feed additive solutions for pig disease treatment, prevention,” focused on feed additive solutions for mitigating swine diseases.

Watch on-demand now to learn the latest research on the role the microbiome plays in improving pig gut health and immunity.

Feeding management and biosecurity are critical in reducing non-therapeutic use of antibiotics. Additionally, the development of the pig gut microbiome also plays a central role in immune function and digestive capacity. This is crucial not just in the early phases, but throughout the entire productive life.

This webinar will explore the gut microbiome development and its complex interaction with digestion, immune function, overall health, and performance. Focusing on diarrhea in nursery pigs, hear experts Victor Perez, DuPont Animal Nutrition, and Lourens Heres, Darling Ingredients, point to etiology and technological interventions that reduce production system problems encountered with a reduced use of in-feed antibiotics.

Beyond antibiotic removal, feed adaptation also encompasses restricting protein content, providing proteins with good digestibility, feeding fibers, and a proper balance of nutrients. Recent studies on the use of spray-dried plasma protein (SDPP) to reduce antibiotic and zinc usage will be examined. SDPP has positive effects on piglet immunity, feed quality, and diarrhea reductions.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN:

  1. Explore latest research on the role the microbiome plays in improving pig gut health and immunity.
  2. Discuss how feed additives contribute to controlling and preventing swine diseases.
  3. Examine the role of feed and feed ingredients in disease risk mitigation.
  4. Explore how to maintain piglet health and performance without in-feed antibiotics.

This is the second installment in a three-part webinar series, “Feed additive solutions for pig disease treatment, prevention,” focused on feed additive solutions for mitigating swine diseases.

This webinar is sponsored by DuPont and is presented by Feed Strategy and WATT Global Media.
